You can extend your subscription - for example with Carrivo comfort packages. Additional charges, such as a new driver (driving licence held for less than 5 years) surcharge, may also apply. All services and amounts are fully transparent and can be viewed at any time.

Some charges only apply if additional effort is required - for example in the case of fines, lost keys, or returning the vehicle in a heavily soiled condition.
All applicable charges are shown transparently during the ordering process.

Clear and transparent

One-time vehicle preparation fee

We bundle all initial setup efforts into a single, transparent fee.

What is it for?

Before you take over your vehicle, we complete all necessary steps: registration, logistical provisioning, technical preparation, cleaning, and license plate installation. Depending on the model, this may also include a tire change.

What does the fee cover?

The vehicle preparation fee bundles all startup efforts into a one-time payment. It fully covers the services listed above, ensuring the vehicle is ready to drive at handover.

Why this model?

Some costs are charged upfront to cover the fixed work involved in setting up a subscription and preparing the car. This allows us to keep the monthly rate lower and avoid spreading these costs over the full term of the subscription.

Is there a security deposit?

In most cases, no. The one-time vehicle preparation fee covers preparation and logistics costs, so a separate deposit is usually not required. In certain situations, we may propose individual solutions, such as a down payment or a deposit. We don’t see this as a hurdle, but as a way to enable mobility even when a standard check would otherwise not allow approval.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about car subscriptions - answered directly and transparently.

What is included in the monthly fee?

The monthly fee covers the use of the vehicle, including your selected mileage package. It also includes comprehensive cover, registration, vehicle tax, roadside assistance, and seasonal tires. You simply get in and drive - without having to worry about bureaucracy or ongoing administration.

Which costs are not covered by the monthly price?

You are responsible for variable costs such as fuel or charging electricity, tolls, and parking fees. Operating fluids like windshield washer fluid or AdBlue, as well as damage costs up to the amount of the agreed excess, are also your responsibility. There are no hidden fees beyond the costs typically associated with driving a car.

Is there a deposit?

In most cases, no. The one-time vehicle preparation fee covers preparation and logistics costs, so a separate deposit is usually not required. In certain situations, we may propose individual solutions, such as a down payment or a deposit. We don’t see this as a hurdle, but as a way to enable mobility even when a standard check would otherwise not allow approval.

How does Carrivo distinguish between normal wear and tear and damage?

Normal wear and tear includes typical signs of use such as small scratches, normal tire wear, or light marks in the interior. Damage refers to issues that go beyond normal use, such as deep scratches, dents, cracks, accident damage, or heavy soiling.
At both handover and return, we inspect the vehicle using the same standardised checklist. We document the condition together with photos to ensure a consistent standard. Your final report is verified by an independent appraiser, ensuring completely objective and transparent billing.

For full clarity in advance, Carrivo publishes a detailed damage catalogue at carrivo.com/schadenskatalog.

Why are Carrivo’s prices transparent, and what does the vehicle preparation fee cover?

Carrivo focuses on predictability. Your price is based on clear factors: the selected vehicle, your mileage package, and optional extras. The fixed monthly fee already includes essential services such as insurance and maintenance, and any potential additional costs are clearly disclosed in advance.

The one-time vehicle preparation fee covers the initial effort required to prepare the vehicle for you, including registration, logistics, and preparation for handover. Because these costs are covered upfront, a separate deposit is usually not required.
