Many mobility offers feel unnecessarily complicated: long commitments, rigid checks, and costs that only become visible later.

Carrivo deliberately takes a different approach: transparent pricing, clear terms, and simple digital access to your car. Our model is a straightforward car subscription designed to make mobility easy to access and focused on solutions rather than hurdles or paperwork.

In this article, you’ll meet the team behind Carrivo, learn how we work, and understand the principles that guide our decisions every day.

The Objective: Accessible Mobility

Traditional automotive finance often excludes capable drivers due to outdated scoring criteria. Carrivo aims to remove these barriers. The focus is on accessibility and predictability.

Key characteristics of the service:

  • Fair approval: Assessment via Open Banking rather than SCHUFA.
  • Fixed terms: Contracts run for a fixed term (e.g. 12 or 24 months) and end automatically.
  • All-inclusive Costs: One rate covers all essentials - comprehensive cover, taxes, maintenance and more.
  • Digital process: Reduced administrative effort for the user.

The Team and Our Background

Carrivo combines deep automotive expertise with modern, digital processes built for today’s mobility needs.

Shareholders & background

Carrivo is backed by Christina Wandscher and Giovanni Salamone.
Christina Wandscher, Managing Director of Wandscher Autovertriebs GmbH, brings strong entrepreneurial experience, in-depth industry knowledge and a long-term perspective on the vehicle business.
Giovanni Salamone adds more than 25 years of experience as an international vehicle trader, with extensive expertise in sourcing, marketing and cross-border operations.

Management

Operational leadership is headed by Sol Choi. With over ten years of experience at automotive manufacturers and mobility providers, particularly in leasing and subscription models, he focuses on the strategic development of the business, building strong partner networks and steering key areas of the company.

Operations

As Senior Manager Operations, Steven Schielke is responsible for Carrivo’s day-to-day operations. With more than ten years in mobility services, his focus is on customer service, vehicle logistics, fleet processes and the continuous optimisation of internal and digital workflows.

Together, this blend of long-standing industry experience and clearly structured digital processes forms the foundation for a reliable, transparent and easy-to-use mobility service.

Operational Principles

Carrivo operates according to four core principles that directly affect the customer experience.

1. Transparent Pricing

The monthly rate is fixed. It includes comprehensive cover, maintenance, inspections, taxes, and registration.

A one-time vehicle preparation fee (Bereitstellungskosten) applies at the beginning of the contract. This fee pays for vehicle registration, preparation, and logistics. It is listed separately to keep the monthly subscription rate stable. Variable costs such as fuel and tolls remain the responsibility of the driver. There are no hidden service fees.

2. Fair and Simple Approval

No payslips to collect and no documents to upload. Instead, we use secure Open Banking to check in real time whether the car subscription fits your current budget — quickly, digitally and without paperwork. This allows many customers to get approved who might be declined by traditional credit scoring. And if it’s close, we review together what options may be possible, such as a deposit.

3. Low Administration

The process is designed to minimize paperwork.

  • Booking: Entirely digital.
  • Billing: One monthly invoice.
  • Contract end: The contract terminates automatically at the end of the fixed term. There is no need to send a cancellation letter, and the contract does not renew automatically.

4. Clear and Documented Standards

To avoid surprises at handover or return, we work with clear digital checklists and defined criteria. The vehicle’s condition is documented at handover. At return, the same standards apply, and a transparent damage guide clearly explains what counts as normal wear and what goes beyond that. If needed, an independent inspection can support the assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is included in the monthly price?

A: Comprehensive cover with deductible, maintenance, inspections, taxes, and registration. Fuel and consumables are excluded.

Q: Do I need to cancel the contract?

A: No. The contract ends automatically after the agreed term (e.g., 12 or 24 months).

Q: Can I swap cars during the term?

A: You select a vehicle for a fixed term. You may choose a different vehicle for a new term once the current contract expires.

Q: Why is there a vehicle preparation fee?

A: The vehicle preparation fee covers the actual costs of registering the vehicle and logistical preparation. Paying this upfront allows the monthly rate to remain lower and focused solely on vehicle usage.

Conclusion

Carrivo offers a mobility solution defined by clarity and structure. By removing credit barriers and simplifying the administrative process, the Auto Abo provides a practical alternative to leasing or buying.
